No matter how enthusiastic I am about some class, sooner or later I am going to sit there, not listening to the lecturer but drawing on my notes. My favorite thing to doodle/draw with is a pen. A blue pen. I have gotten so used to it that when I drew in pencil this summer, I did not know what to do with it. Erasing? What is that?
I doodle chicks. Hot chicks, weird chicks, chick parts, boobs (I am a fan), too skinny chicks, psycho chicks. I usually don’t bother drawing the hands and feet (which has caused me to forget HOW to draw them, oops) and so I draw amputees. Which comes out kind of kinky.
This semester’s best doodle classes: ethics, psychology and the history of the English language.

I really do. I found it on someone’s blog, but I cannot recall whose. I have no idea whose dress it is, but it is SO really truly absolutely perfect, that I get all tingly looking at it. The last few days I have done nothing but think about how I could make one of these of my own. Even at the opera last night with PB I thought about it, missing some of the points of Cosi fan Tutte. I don’t usually like this sort of beading, but on this dress it is just so perfect. This dress is the most sensual thing I have seen in a LONG time.

Cars, bikes and tractors turning into robots that speak with the Movie Guy voice, dogs humping each other, sexy girl who knows mechanics and looks like a Playboy model, the mom who is high and sends her husband to all sorts of warm and dark places while the dogs are humping each other… it was too much. I did not finish watching it. I’m sorry. Too much. Of crap.

After all these years, I still love this song.
Kinda lose your sense of time
‘Cause the days don’t matter no more
All the feelings that you hide
Gonna tear you up inside
You hope she knows you tried
Follows you around all day
And you wake up soaking wet
‘Cause between this world and eternity
There is a face you hope to see
***
You know where you’ve sent her
You sure know where you are
You’re trying to ease off
But you know you won’t get far
And now she’s up there
Sings like an angel
But you can’t hear those words
And now she’s up there
Sings like an angel
Unforgivable Sinner
You’ve been walking around in tears
No answers are there to get
You won’t ever be the same
Someone cries and you’re to blame
Struggling with a fight inside
Sorrow you’ll defeat
The picture you see it won’t disappear
Not unpleasant dreams or her voice you hear
***
Maybe one time lost
But now you’re found
Stand right up before
You hit the ground
Maybe one time lost
But now you’re found
Stand right up before
You hit the ground – hit the ground
***

The cold autumn weather, with menace falling from the sky and other things not nice, really sets the mood on crappy-level. However, there is a cure. Well… for me, at least.
And that would be late-night mini road trips with Eva.
Our road trips started with us getting licenses. Eva had her mom’s car and everything was settled. At first, these trips were what we called ‘field parties’. We (usually 4 people) would drive on some muddy road leading god knows where at nighttime, find ourselves a nice field, stop and dance to good music. We were all alternative artsy people with our “different” music preferences when we started out. These trips really got us all out of our artsy comfort zones and into the whole ‘love for the beat’ thing.
It was no ordinary disco-dancing that took place on those fields. This was Animal Planet. We were the embodiment of natural ecstasy, oblivious to everything but our inner animal. Man, it was fun.
Now it has quieted down. The road trip is a trip on another level. It’s not about wildness but mellowing out.
A few nights ago Eva and I hit the road again. We drove this way, that way, back again – anywhere we damn well pleased and nowhere in particular. It’s so relaxing. No conversation is actually needed, music plays its own part. After 5 hours of driving nowhere, in complete darkness, on remote roads, with music providing a state of Nirvana… it’s all good. It’s like having eaten a bowl of happy-stew.
Just imagine this
and this
and nothing else for hours.
It’s Heaven.

I will never trust a review again. I was browsing through IMDB, looking for good movies. I read the first review for this movie and decided it must be bad, so I left it aside. Then, a week later, having drained isohunt from everything else that is watchable, I took the movie. And I LOVED IT!
The cast is simply superb, the humor is exactly my kind of humor, and the music – which is such an important part of this film – is timeless.
And how cute is Tom Sturridge! That angel-faced hunk. Reminds me of Kings of Leon. Here’s some images of him being hot.

It is always funny when an American tries to read some text in Latin. It’s especially funny when it happens on screen. Usually it’s priests and such, trying to act all serious while reading “in nomine patris et filiis et spiritus sancti”, but you know, the pronunciation is messed up. I’m not accusing anyone of being stupid or anything. But it’s fun.
There is a lot of American Latin on Buffy. It’s hilarious. They read the passages, make serious faces, but they are so far off the side of Latin that is Latin that it diminishes the awe that I should be feeling. You know the drill: the end of the world is nigh, bad things are happening, people are dying… but then Angel starts reading something in Latin and you can’t help but smile.
I’m observant like that.

I did some digging around on coats and well, I regret doing so. Now I have these gorgeous things in my head and no money to act out my dreams. One time I saw a BEAUTIFUL embellished and beaded vintage coat in a secondhand shop. They said it was not for sale and I was bummed out of my mind. I thought about that coat for WEEKS!
If only my wallet contained some monetary substances…

Pipilotti is an artist from Switzerland. I looked at her other works and I did not get it. But I like this song.
I first heard it when (kind of) working in the infamous Lai 10 secondhand shop in Old Town. There was always something going on there. But I was so shy I never took the chance to get to know all those people who were there. I worked there on some Saturdays and Sundays. It was always fun.
It was Lee who played me this song and for about 5 years now I had not heard it. I had forgotten it. For some reason I remembered it last week and since then have listened to it too many times.
